DREAMS

Overall Impression
The true art of any effective cover is being able to capture the magic that helped make the original so compelling in the first place whilst successfully infusing it with one's own artistic expression, and having listened to Trudy Holland's brilliantly performed cover of the timeless Fleetwood Mac classic "Dreams" a fair few times now, I think it's safe to say that Trudy has most certainly accomplished this. Thanks to Trudy's utterly enthralling vocal performance, the beauty of the original has been successfully replicated whilst still feeling very much like a unique showcase for Trudy's own creative voice, resulting in a respectful and well-realized cover that captures the spirit of the original perfectly.

Strongest Point(s)
The vocal performance is very strong indeed. Filled with tonal nuance and dynamic finesse, Trudy's silk-like delivery manages to embody the magic of the original whilst making the song feel her own. Between her angelic-like phrasing and the beautifully crafted vocal harmonies, you can't help but be drawn into the graceful nature of the song and its fittingly dreamlike aesthetic. Thankfully Trudy's enthralling vocals are supported by an equally engaging instrumental backdrop and thanks to the ambiance-inducing guitar work and strong rhythmic backbone provided by both the drums and bass, the vocals are given the support they need whilst also being given plenty of room to breathe within the arrangement. This allows each and every delicately phrased melody line to flow exceptionally well and adopt the necessary emotional weight needed to really engage the listener, resulting in a well-rounded, passionate, and respectful tribute to an all-time classic.
